We only use temporary dermal fillers

We stock a variety of FDA approved brands including the Juvéderm, Revolax & Teosyal range’s. Dermal fillers are gradually broken down within the body or can be broken down using the enzyme hyalase, if needed in a medical situation or if the client no longer wanted the dermal filler.

We only use temporary dermal fillers

Our lip enhancement procedure is our most common and popular area treated with dermal filler. The lips are very durable and easy to manipulate with dermal fillers which make it possible to enhance the volume and balance out asymmetry of the lip’s.

Our fillers come in a range of different consistencies from fine ‘watery’ like textures, suitable for subtle volume, to thicker gel like substances used for fuller or firmer augmentation’s. We offer 0.5ml or 1ml syringes for those who wish to enhance their lips.

This can be changed on the day of the treatment after the technician has seen your lips and discussed with the client their desired outcome. The technician can create subtle volume and restoration for a natural hydrated lip, suitable for those with little natural lip tissue or for more mature clients.

It is possible to use a higher consistency of HA filler to create a fuller, plumper looking lip enhancement. All clients will fill out a medical history form, client consent form and data consent form prior to treatment. The technician will then discuss the clients desired look and concerns, take before and after photos and will provide aftercare advice verbally and written.

FAQ's

Whether you book in for 0.5ml or 1ml the technician will discuss options on the day to help advise which is best suited for the client. Bear in mind 0.5ml is usually only required for people with existing dermal filler who wish to have a 'top up' or for suitable for those that have very little lip tissue and cannot gracefully stretch to 1ml, or for more mature clients who wish for a very slight enhancement to the lip.

This differs from client to client. We advise clients to take arnica tablets and anti-histamine on the lead up to their appointment to help reduce or ease the possibility of bruising and swelling. In some cases clients may have extreme swelling which generally subsides within 24 hours and bruising may take between 2 - 10 days to reduce.

Swelling , redness, tenderness and bruising to the area are normal post procedure and can take up to 1- 2 weeks to fully settle. Vessel occlusions or compression is when the filler blocks or compresses the blood flow to the lips, if not treated quickly enough this can lead to necrosis of the tissue, frontally this is a very rare complications, especially in the lips as they are very durable with good blood supply. Our technicians are trained to use hyalase which when injected, breaks down the filler instantly which will return the blood flow. Your technician will discuss these complications and what to look out for on your consultation.

We advise waiting at least 1 month before adding more filler to the area. It differs on person to person dependent on how much tissue they have naturally, as to how much filler is suitable for them without creating an unnatural looking lip enhancement. Your technician will advise how much filler and when you can have more filler on your treatment date.

Fillers last between 3-12 months, sometimes longer. It varies for each individual. Things that may reduce the longevity of the filler are; regular intense exercising, dehydration, fast metabolisms and excessive sun exposure.

We recommend booking your treatment 1 week prior to flying to allow for any swelling and bruising to reduce and to ensure that there are no medical complications.

No, we only use 1 syringe per client due to hygiene issues, any remaining filler that is not used is discarded due to contamination risk and arranged to be collected by our sharps management company.

We offer consultation on the day of the treatment where the clinician and the client will go through a medical form, client consent and discuss risks, concerns and aftercare before going on to the treatment. If clients wish to have a separate consultation this can be arranged.

We advise clients to visit their local pharmacy for arnica tablets and antihistamine. Taking these one week prior to treatment may hep to reduce bruising and swelling post treatment. We also advise avoiding heat on the lips such as hot tea or coffee touching the lips and propping yourself up slightly in bed. We also advise clients to drink lots of water prior to treatment.

We offer Revolax dermal filler which are vegan.

We do not offer cannula techniques for lips as we believe you can contour and augment the lips better using needling techniques.

It takes around 8 -15 minutes to complete a lip enhancement.

We advise clients to take the time to allow themselves to relax, by taking deep breaths. We can offer clients lidocaine injections which can help numb the area further. We take the time to ensure clients are ok, by consistently checking in on them and stopping for a breath, if needed. We can supply hydration treatments and water to those who need it. Our clinic room has a relaxing feel with a skylight and double doors which can open up to let cool air in.

Our lead technician Danielle an Aesthetic Practitioner with 2 years experience in injectables, with a micro-pigmentation background carry's out all dermal filler treatments.

Vessel occlusions are extremely rare but can happy to anyone and with any injector. Your technician is consistently looking for signs of vessel compression when performing the treatment by analysing the colour of the skin and performing a capillary refill check. Compressions show themselves as white or grey areas, when the blood flow is constricted or blocked. The technician uses heat and massage to help manipulate the filler to aid blood flow in the area. We advise the client to take aspirin to further help dilate the blood vessels. If this technique has no effect then a patch text for hyalase injections take place and then injected to flush the area, this product breaks down dermal filler instantly and works for up to 24 hours. Your technician will be in close contact with you at this time and a resist will be necessary to examine the area.

If you are experiencing an adverse reaction to dermal filler it is important to contact your clinician via email or phone. If this is happening out of hours when the clinic is closed it is important to take the initiative to contact an out of hours Doctor or Hospital to be checked over. No matter what clinic or what technician you use it is important to seek medical help if you cannot contact your technician.

So I got my frown lines done by Alex today. I wasn't expecting it to be a nice process but I was pleasantly surprised at what a big girl I was. And Alex, you were just great. I already feel at ease about coming back for my future top up appointments. You were so gentle and genuinely lovely. Massive thank you to you. xx
